Cyndi's List The best site to find surnames, organizations, how-to's, etc. - just about anything associated with genealogy! Voted the #1 Genealogy site in 1998 by the readers of Eastman's Genealogy Newsletter. The "Sweet Milk" Site is registered with Cyndi's List, and has been since 1997.
Surname Message Boards An index to Message Boards for other surnames, just like the one we use for Queries on The "SweetMilk" Site. If you are searching for information on other family lines, see if the surname has been registered here.
Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter Published weekly by Dick Eastman, this is the best source of breaking news on all tools and resources for genealogy, with a special focus on on-line sources. Back issues are also on-line, and you can subscribe to have the newsletter e-mailed to you instead.
Czechoslovak Genealogical Society Int'l (CGSI) CGSI publishes a terrific quarterly newsletter (approximately 30 pages) devoted to research in the former Czechoslovakia. I have been a member for many years.
Genealogical Databases:

LDS Family Search On-line access to the LDS Mormon Church's Ancestral File, International Genealogical Index (IGI), and other selected information. This is currently the hottest on-line genealogical research tool!

History:

The 30 Years War As described elsewher on this site, this war played a large role in the dispersal of the family. Here is a definitive text on the war, published under Project Gutenberg (on-line publishing of older books).
Martin Luther As with the 30 Years War, Luther 's influence had a big impact on our family history.
WABC Musicradio 77 Well, this may not be history in the strict sense of the word, but if you are a baby boomer who grew up in the New York metropolitan area in the 1960's and '70's like a lot of the Sismilichs, or a fan of Top 40 radio in general, this site has the sounds to bring back those happy days of your childhood.
